Spiritual Formation Community

Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

What is Spiritual Formation Community?
A community supporting the journey of being conformed to the image of Christ for the sake of others.

The spiritual formation community at Vineyard Anaheim exists to support individuals who desire a deeper intimacy and relationship with God. We offer a focus on inner life development through teaching/training, small groups, retreats and spiritual direction.

We believe that every disciple is invited by the Holy Spirit into becoming conformed to the Image of Christ through spiritual practices such as prayer, solitude, silence, scripture-meditation, and reflection. Yet, that individual journey with God needs the support and encouragement of a community of others who are on the same path. Our gatherings are intended to provide that kind of supportive community.

Our hope is that participants will gain a deeper knowledge of God and self, resulting in a deepening experience of God, passion for God and connectedness to God. Anyone is welcome!

Renovaré Groups

What is a Renovaré Group?

Renovaré is a Latin word that means “to renew”. A Renovaré Group is made up of 3-8 people who desire to develop a deeper walk with God and want to explore new avenues of intimacy with Him. The material (forward by Richard Foster) is designed to introduce group participants to a balanced overview of the six traditions of spirituality that make up the history of the Christian church and to offer practical experience by sampling some of the spiritual disciplines that emerged out of each stream.

Each 8 – 10 week group consists of in-group readings, members sharing from specific questions, and a weekly commitment to trying one of the spiritual disciplines associated with that week’s material. This group produces rich discussions and offers new, experiential ways to interact with God.

How do I start or join a group?
The group material and format are self-explanatory; and able to function without a specific leader. If you are interested in starting or joining a group, we will be happy to coach you or connect you to a group that is forming.
